Here are the slides from my presentation for the TV White Spaces BOF at the 4G Wireless Evolution Conference earlier today. Everyone else was focused on what might happen with TV white spaces over the next 12-24 months. I figured Carl Ford invites me because I'm controversial, so I took the long view (10-20 years).
On this basis, the real value of the white spaces decision is as a precedent for getting access to other spectrum which is mostly vacant, e.g. virtually all spectrum from 3 GHz to 9 GHz, spectrum that will be vastly more useful than the TV white spaces, at least in the long term.
