Here's one view of some of the challenges of doing business in emerging markets. I quote form an internal email with names excised:
It turns out we heard from <…> last night. He is out in the "boonies" and does not have good communications. He called to get some guidance on a site that is having some issues. He has no LAN connection and limited to no cell coverage. He got to a land line to call. … he sounded exhausted. You can see his living quarters below. It seems he is driving by day and installing by night.

Creative lodging, creative travel arrangements, little or no access to voice or data communications but at least this is a relatively safe area, compared to some.

Yes, you are right. Actually, in the emerging markets there are many stories which do not get covered in the mainstream media.
