The eBay developers conference is going on right now in Las Vegas and, while I'm not attending, eBay is posting presentations on their daily agenda pages, for example, yesterdays' are here. I did a quick read on Sunday and an update early this morning.
Reading thru the slides for Using Skype to Improve Buyer/Seller Communications by Gunjan Bhow of Actiontec Electronics one gets a good sense of just how useful Skype video and the new Skypecast feature is for eBay sellers, e.g. "Pitch your product like Home Shopping Network."
There's also a slide showing PayPal cash transfers built into the Skype User interface. This potential feature was first discussed at eBay's May 4th financial analyst conference.
Still no word on when this feature will be released - it's not in the current Skype 2.5 beta.
Then there's the idea of deliver new services using Skype, e.g. fortune telling, Windows trouble shooting or French lessons from a native Parisian.
