Every now and then, I look at the logs of hits on this blog. A large proportion of these hits are from people using search engines and until recently, searcher interests were somewhat distributed. About 25% of the searcher hits were for my writings on ATCA subjects including AMCs, MicroTCA, iTDM, etc., another ~25% were to my comments on IMS hype, ~25% landed on the details on our Verizon Fios installation and the remaining search-related hits were highly scattered. But in the past month that's changed. Now, over 60% of the search-related hits are for Fios information.
Part of this change happened because my Fios installation blog entry now comes up #3 on Google's results for the "Fios installation" search string." But that's not the only reason, looking over the search strings people are using, "Fios installation" only accounts for perhaps half of the increase. While this is highly anecdotal, I'd say Verizon is doing very well, at least on the PR front. There are a lot of people looking into Verizon's Fios broadband fiber-to-the-home (FTTH) service.
But if you are seeking Fios info, let me suggest you also look at Dan Bricklin's description of his installation. Dan provides even more detail and easily tops my description by including photos!
