4 and 1/2 weeks after the service was installed (details here). It doesn't appear to be a blanket mailing to all of Newton, so it's probably because I signed up last winter, on the Verizon website, to be notified when Fios service became available.
Of course one wonders why they sent a UPS 2nd day air letter instead of sending me an email... and why there was a five week delay in notifying eager customers, i.e. those on their waiting list...
The actual mailer is not as glitzy as those from Comcast and RCN, but it's a respectable start, so it's time to welcome Verizon to a competitive market that's not limited to telecom players..
